This painting was the first of two that showed commuters in subway stations; It shows affluent commuters going about their daily lives in an upscale area of Toronto. The other, titled "Late Sunday at Sheppard Station," showed ordinary commuters returning home on a late Sunday commute along workers on a late night shift and a women playing a guitar. The figure with the coat on the right side of the painting is a foreshadowing to a design for a trench-coat that was executed two months later!
